Top 5 Countries Whose Citizens Frequent Kazakhstan for Work Revealed

Vice Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Lepekha has unveiled the leading countries from which citizens travel to Kazakhstan for work.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Lepekha, identified the top five countries whose citizens seek employment opportunities in Kazakhstan.

“Which countries are leading in terms of migration to Kazakhstan: Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and China,” he disclosed.

Lepekha reported that since the beginning of the year, 1.073 million citizens from Uzbekistan have entered Kazakhstan, while 982 thousand have departed.

“Last year’s figures depict them as the frontrunners: 5,000,396 citizens arrived, while 5,000,373 citizens left. We registered 411 citizens of Uzbekistan temporarily. 367 came for work, while the rest pursued studies, family reunification, medical treatment, among other purposes. Mainly, transit through our country to neighboring nations,” he explained.

Concerning citizens of Tajikistan, Lepekha revealed that 218.5 thousand individuals have entered Kazakhstan since the year commenced, with 213,726 thousand leaving. Administrative actions were taken against 710 Tajik citizens for violating migration laws, with 195 individuals being deported.

Overall, Lepekha highlighted that since the beginning of the year, 9.8 thousand people have faced administrative penalties for migration law violations, with a thousand individuals being deported. The majority of migration law violations involve citizens from Uzbekistan, followed by Russia, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, respectively.
