More than 220,000 Services Provided to Persons with Disabilities via Social Services Portal in 2024

In the year 2024, a significant milestone has been achieved in supporting persons with disabilities in Kazakhstan through the Social Services Portal, as reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since the onset of 2024, over 181,400 technical rehabilitation aids, 7,700 sign language services, 25,100 personal assistants, and 13,300 sanatorium-resort treatments have been facilitated through this platform.

The Social Services Portal empowers persons with disabilities to independently select the providers of technical equipment and rehabilitation services that best suit their needs. Ordering assistance is made accessible through the validation of the service recipient’s electronic signature. The requested Technical Rehabilitation Services (TRS) can be obtained via delivery or pickup.

The provision of rehabilitation aids for persons with disabilities encompasses prosthetic and orthopedic devices, hearing aids, typhotechnical and hygienic aids, as well as wheelchairs.

Currently, the Portal hosts registrations from 900 centers specializing in special social services, 724 TSR providers, over 29,000 personal assistant service providers, 742 sign language service providers, and 119 spa treatment providers.

The implementation of the automated information system, the “Social Services Portal,” is a key component of the National Plan aimed at safeguarding the rights and enhancing the quality of life of persons with disabilities.

Aligned with the directives of the Social Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Portal’s commissions, established under local executive bodies, have been endowed with expanded responsibilities. These include the expeditious handling and resolution within five days of applications from persons with disabilities concerning substandard products or services. The commissions are authorized to forward applications to suppliers and oversee their execution, with the power to delist unscrupulous suppliers from the Portal.

For assistance in navigating the Portal, individuals can seek guidance from the support contact center reachable through the unified number 1414.
