Turkmenistan and Iran Explore Enhanced Gas Cooperation at Iran Oil Show 2024

During the 28th Iranian International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, Oil Refining, and Petrochemicals (Iran Oil Show 2024), Murad Archayev, Chairman of the "Turkmengaz" State Concern, emphasized the significance of strengthening partnership with Iran in the gas industry. Discussions revolved around the potential expansion of technical cooperation and participation in gas swaps, as reported by IIC.

In a meeting with Majid Chegeni, Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Archayev underscored Iran’s influential role in the global gas market.

Chegeni expressed interest in deepening collaboration with Turkmenistan by exchanging energy resources and engaging Iranian companies in projects within Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy complex.

The NIGC representative highlighted the mutual advantages of the Turkmen-Iranian gas partnership and Iran’s readiness to provide technical assistance and share expertise across various segments of the gas industry. Additionally, Chegeni announced Iran’s hosting of a ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum this year, expressing support for Turkmenistan’s potential membership in the forum.
