Twitter changed its logo to Dogcoin symbol
The social network Twitter on Monday, replaced the blue bird on its website logo with a dog which is the symbol of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency. The new logo is displayed when viewing the pages of the site, Turanews.kz reports.
It is currently unknown if this change has been made permanent. The blog of the social network on the Twitter support page, as well as on the page of the owner of the social network, Elon Musk, have no comment on this issue.
According to Bloomberg, since the change, the value of Dogecoin on the Binance cryptocurrency exchange has increased by 30%.
Musk has repeatedly spoken positively about Dogecoin on his Twitter. In early April 2021, he promised to “send Dogecoin to the Moon” and in May he explained that his company SpaceX would launch a satellite to the Moon in 2022 under a contract fully paid for by this cryptocurrency.
In January 2022, Musk’s other company, Tesla, announced it was accepting Dogecoin as payment for some of its products.
In September 2022, a group of investors accused Musk and a number of his partners of deliberately inflating the price of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency by 36,000 percent over two years.
