Mass Airlift Rescues Over 1,600 from Flood-Hit Areas in Kazakhstan

Rising floodwaters have prompted urgent evacuations across several regions in Kazakhstan, including Ulytau, Kostanay, Aktobe, Atyrau, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Akmola, and Abay.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Defense, and the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have mobilized over 20 aircraft to aid in rescue efforts, as reported by JSC Kazaviaspas.

Aviators conducted 27 aerial reconnaissance flights to pinpoint areas of concern, facilitating the evacuation of 1,660 individuals, including 425 children. Moreover, more than 30 tons of essential humanitarian supplies have been airlifted to affected areas as part of ongoing flood control measures.
