The Senate of Kazakhstan has officially ratified the Treaty on Allied Relations with Tajikistan, a landmark agreement aimed at expanding military, political, and economic cooperation.
Senator Darkhan Kydyrali emphasized that this 26-article treaty serves as a robust legal framework for deepening ties in water energy, transport logistics, and regional security. The two nations are currently working to double their bilateral trade turnover to 2 billion dollars.
This treaty follows similar allied agreements Kazakhstan previously established with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. By formalizing this partnership, Kazakhstan aims to further integrate the Central Asian region and ensure collective stability. The ratification marks a final step in a process initiated during President Tokayev’s state visit to Dushanbe in August 2024.
