Uzbekistan Slips in Global Internet Speed Rankings

In May 2024, Uzbekistan experienced a decline in both mobile and wired Internet speeds, according to the Speedtest Global Index.

Uzbekistan’s ranking for mobile Internet speed dropped to 89th place, down one position compared to April, with an average speed of 29.50 Mbps.

Similarly, in terms of wired Internet speed, Uzbekistan fell to 90th place from 89th previously, with an average speed of 64.52 Mbps.

For context, Qatar boasts the fastest mobile Internet speeds globally at 329.37 Mbps, while Singapore leads in wired Internet speed with an average of 289.98 Mbps.

The decline in rankings underscores ongoing challenges in maintaining and improving Internet infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
