Turkmenistan Set to Upgrade Liquefied Gas Storage and Shipment Facilities

Turkmenistan is gearing up for the modernization of its facilities dedicated to the reception, storage, and shipment of liquefied gas, a product manufactured by the Turkmengaz state concern.

The planned overhaul of existing infrastructure is aimed at accommodating the burgeoning volumes of liquefied gas production efficiently.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has greenlit the project, underscoring the significance of bolstering liquefied gas production within the nation and ensuring its seamless transportation to global markets. Notably, in the first quarter of 2024, Turkmenistan saw a remarkable 109.4% surge in liquefied gas production.

Analysts highlight the increasing prominence of liquefied gas in the global primary energy mix, with projections indicating a 30% upsurge in global LNG (liquefied natural gas) production over the next three years.
