Hajimurat Hudaygulyev, the Chairman of the “Turkmensvyaz” Agency (Türkmenaragatnaşyk), announced that Turkmenistan has reached a notable milestone with 3,149,178 users connected to the Internet, TuraNews.kz reports.
The statement was made during the “Turkmentel-2023” conference in Ashgabat, as reported by Turkmenportal with reference to the “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” publication.
Breaking down the figures, Hudaygulyev specified that 421,609 users access the Internet through wired connections, while a larger portion, totaling 2,727,569 users, utilize mobile Internet services. Additionally, he highlighted a remarkable tenfold increase in the total capacity of international Internet channels acquired by Turkmenistan over the past three years.
Furthermore, the Chairman shared that Turkmenistan has successfully implemented eight interstate fiber optic directions for information transmission, enhancing the country’s connectivity infrastructure. Through telecom operator network expansion projects, valued at $273 million, Turkmenistan has achieved a commendable 100% coverage of populated areas with high-speed Internet. These developments underscore the nation’s commitment to advancing its digital landscape and ensuring widespread access to online services.
