Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Continue Border Negotiations

A recent gathering of the working groups from both Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took place in Nukus, Uzbekistan, from April 1 to 7, as reported by Turkmenistan's Ministry of Internal Communications (MIC).

The primary focus of the meeting was the ongoing demarcation efforts along the shared border between the two nations. Additionally, discussions centered on the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission responsible for the demarcation of the State Border between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Characterized by a spirit of camaraderie and mutual understanding, the meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors. Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan and Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan have consistently emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation between their countries. This commitment is rooted in the shared historical and cultural heritage that binds the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples.

Noteworthy manifestations of this enduring friendship include the establishment of Tashkent Park in the Turkmen capital and Ashgabat Park in Tashkent, serving as tangible symbols of bilateral friendship. Furthermore, monuments commemorating eminent poets and scholars from both nations adorn the capitals of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, underscoring the deep cultural ties between the two states.
