Turkic World Symposium Held in Almaty

Rare archival photographs, video materials, and documents related to the “First Baku Turkological Congress” were presented in Almaty, reports TuraNews.kz citing 24.kz.

An international symposium was held to mark the 100th anniversary of the historic forum. It was attended by representatives of Turkic peoples, as well as scholars, historians, and linguists from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

As part of the symposium, a special exhibition was opened based on rare archival collections from the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan and the Central State Archive of Kazakhstan. The exposition features protocols, reports, scientific works, and photographs of participants related to the First Turkological Congress held in Baku in 1926. Among the documents presented at the exhibition is a list of specially invited delegates, which includes the name of the prominent Kazakh public figure and educator Akhmet Baitursynuly.
