Seven Freight Cars Derailed in Uzbekistan

JSC "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" has provided an explanation for the derailment of seven freight cars. The incident occurred on May 18 on an access road owned by LLC "Chirchik Savdo Baraka" in the Tashkent region.

The press service of JSC “Uzbekiston Temir Yullari” revealed that employees of BN Grain and Oil Group LLC, while receiving cargo from the wagons, failed to use the proper railway equipment, specifically a winch designed for moving wagons at loading and unloading stations.

During the unloading process, workers attempted to pull a wagon using the winch but did not follow the required procedures. This misuse caused the cable to snap, setting the wagon in motion. Despite their efforts, the workers were unable to stop the wagons. Two cars completely derailed, while five others tipped over on their sides.

The company concluded that the incident was caused by a technological violation involving the improper use of the winch.
