Putin Invites Zelensky to Meet in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a press conference following his visit to China, said he was open to meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Putin stressed that he had never ruled out the possibility of such a dialogue.

According to him, the idea of direct talks was initially raised by former U.S. President Donald Trump. “If Zelensky is ready, let him come to Moscow — the meeting will take place,” Putin stated.

The Russian leader also touched upon the possibility of a future meeting with Trump, noting that while no date has been set and no preparations are underway, “the invitation is still on the table.”

Earlier, after talks in Anchorage, the U.S. president said at a joint press conference that a visit to Moscow in response to Putin’s invitation remained a possibility.
