President Tokayev Meets with Sany Group Co. Ltd Chairman to Discuss Green Energy Projects

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan recently held discussions with Xiang Wenbo, the rotating Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sany Group Co. Ltd, one of the world's leading engineering companies. The meeting primarily focused on collaboration opportunities in the realm of green energy initiatives.

The corporation is actively involved in the implementation of a significant project aimed at constructing a wind power plant boasting a capacity of 1 gigawatt. Additionally, deliberations revolved around the potential establishment of a facility for assembling wind farm towers, blades, and nacelles.

President Tokayev underscored Kazakhstan’s keen interest in fostering deeper ties with Sany Group Co. Ltd. Particularly promising avenues for cooperation include the prospective establishment of joint manufacturing ventures within Kazakhstan for specialized equipment and related components.

Furthermore, the Chinese company was encouraged to explore the feasibility of establishing a regional Research and Development (R&D) center in Kazakhstan. Such an initiative would facilitate Sany Group Co. Ltd’s operations within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market.

Concluding the meeting, President Tokayev extended an invitation to Xiang Wenbo to participate in the upcoming Astana International Forum scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan later this year. The forum presents an ideal platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration across various sectors.
