Under the new regulations, individuals caught using electronic cigarettes will face fines of 10,000 soms, while businesses may be fined up to 60,000 soms. Selling these products is punishable by fines of 20,000 soms for individuals and 65,000 soms for legal entities.
For those importing electronic cigarettes, penalties include correctional labor for two months to a year or fines ranging from 100,000 to 120,000 soms, along with a potential ban on specific activities for up to a year. Importing on a larger scale could lead to imprisonment for one to two years.
The government’s stringent measures underscore its commitment to protecting citizens from the potential harms of electronic smoking devices.
