Kazakhstan Provides 15 Thousand Tons of Fuel Oil as Humanitarian Assistance to Tajikistan

Yesterday, on March 12, a significant ceremony was held to officially transfer humanitarian aid to Tajikistan.

Valikhan Turekhanov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, conducted the solemn handover of a certificate for 15 thousand tons of fuel oil to Sohibjon Ziyodulloev, Deputy Director of the Agency for State Material Reserves under the Government of Tajikistan.

During his address, Ambassador Turekhanov emphasized that the decision to extend humanitarian assistance to Tajikistan, in the form of 2 billion 542 million tenge (equivalent to approximately $5.65 million), was made in line with the directives of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The aid aims to support the stable operation of critical energy infrastructure within Tajikistan.

The provision of this humanitarian cargo is facilitated by the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development, known as “KazAID,” and represents a testament to the enduring strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, which is rooted in centuries-old interactions.

In total, the monetary value of humanitarian aid extended by Kazakhstan to Tajikistan since 2006 has surpassed $50 million, underlining the commitment of Kazakhstan to supporting its neighboring nation during times of need.
