President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Palace of Independence in Astana today. In honor of the high-ranking guest’s state visit, an honor guard was assembled in the palace hall.
The Presidential Orchestra performed the national anthems of both countries, after which the leaders walked along the red carpet to the State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Following the ceremonial reception, the presidents commenced a private meeting to discuss bilateral relations and strategic cooperation.
President Erdoğan arrived in Kazakhstan for this state visit at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Kazakh President personally greeted his Turkish counterpart at the Astana airport upon arrival. Highlighting the significance of the visit, the Turkish President’s aircraft was escorted by fighter jets of the Kazakhstan Air Defense Forces from the moment it entered the country’s airspace until its landing in the capital.
