Inaugural Meeting of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Council Set for Azerbaijan

The 1st meeting of the Council of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation (Foundation) is scheduled to take place in Baku on April 30, 2024,

Thi was announced by Aibek Smadiyarov, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during a recent briefing.

The Council comprises the ministers of culture from the Foundation’s member countries. Leading the Kazakh delegation will be Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva.

Established on August 23, 2012, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation operates as an affiliated structure of the Organization of Turkic States. Its primary objectives include the preservation, research, and promotion of Turkic culture and heritage through the support and financing of various events, projects, and programs.

The upcoming meeting will address ongoing activities of the Foundation and deliberate on a draft action plan for 2024-2025.

The Foundation’s members consist of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye, with its Secretariat situated in Baku, Azerbaijan. Aktoty Raimkulova, Kazakhstan’s representative, was appointed president of the Foundation during the 10th OTS Summit.
