Erzhet Zharylkasyn Secures Gold as Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Champion

Kazakhstan's Greco-Roman wrestling squad celebrated its inaugural gold medal triumph at the Asian Wrestling Championship held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Competing in the 63 kg weight category, Erzhet Zharylkasyn proudly represented his nation’s colors in the final showdown against Japan’s Ayata Suzuki.

In a closely contested match that culminated in a 6-6 deadlock, Zharylkasyn’s technique and skill ultimately secured him the victory, earning him the gold medal.

This achievement marks Erzhet Zharylkasyn’s premier medal triumph among senior competitors.

Prior to this milestone, Zharylkasyn had already established himself as a force to be reckoned with, clinching the national championship title among adults in the 63-kilogram weight division and emerging victorious in Kazakhstan’s championship for athletes under the age of 23.

Throughout the tournament in Bishkek, Zharylkasyn demonstrated his prowess by overcoming opponents from South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea on his path to victory.
