Elena Rybakina Advances to Miami Open Quarterfinals with 20th Season Victory

Elena Rybakina, the reigning Wimbledon 2022 champion and currently ranked fourth in the world, secured her spot in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open, a WTA-1000 tournament in the United States.

In a thrilling fourth-round match, the Kazakh athlete defeated the 17th-ranked player in the world, American Madison Keys, with a score of 6-3, 7-5. The intense encounter lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes, during which Rybakina served impressively, with just one double fault, and successfully converted three out of eight possible break points.

With this victory, Rybakina’s head-to-head record against Keys evens out to 2-2.

In the upcoming quarterfinal match, Rybakina will face off against Maria Sakkari of Greece, currently ranked 9th in the world, as she continues her quest for further success in the Miami Open.
