Earthquake Strikes 280km from Almaty, Kazakhstan

A seismic event occurred 280 kilometers northeast of Almaty, Kazakhstan, as reported by the seismic monitoring network of NNTsSN and I LLP under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The earthquake, which struck on March 1 at 08:18 local time, was classified with an energy class of 8.8 and a magnitude of MPV 3.8.

The epicenter was pinpointed at coordinates 44.51°N, 79.89°E, with a depth of 15 kilometers. According to reports, there were no reports of perceptibility within the territory of Kazakhstan, based on the MSK-64 scale.
