Earthquake Rattles Almaty Region

the earthquake's epicenter was pinpointed 108 kilometers east of Almaty.

The National Network of Seismic Stations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, detected the earthquake at precisely 08:56 local time.

Authorities have classified the earthquake’s energy as 9.1, with a magnitude MPV of 4.4. The epicenter’s coordinates were identified at 43.13° N and 78.23° E, with a depth of 15 kilometers.

Despite the significant energy released, reports suggest that the earthquake did not cause perceptible shaking within Kazakhstan, based on the MSK-64 scale.
