Death Toll in Venezuela Earthquake Reaches 1,719

Search and rescue operations continue in Venezuela following the devastating June 24 earthquake, with the death toll now rising to 1,719, Anadolu Agency reports.

Jorge Rodríguez, the President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, issued a statement regarding the ongoing situation after the country was struck by consecutive earthquakes. Rodríguez reported that the number of fatalities has reached 1,719, while injuries stand at 5,034. He added that a total of 22,619 people were affected, and out of 855 damaged structures, 189 buildings have completely collapsed. To recall, the earthquakes struck Venezuela on the evening of June 24 and the morning of June 25, destroying numerous homes.
