Death toll in Türkiye earthuakes rises to 29,000

As of 7th day after the powerful earthquakes in Türkiye, the number of victims has risen to 29,605.

On February 11, the death toll from earthquakes in Turkey has risen to 29,605 and more than 80,000 have been injured, Turanews.kz reports citing the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

AFAD noted that more than 166,000 emergency personnel are currently involved in search and rescue operations.

On the morning of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 hit Turkey. It has been called the strongest since 1939. The epicenter of the cataclysm was the area in the province of Kahramanmaras in the southern of the country. Strong aftershocks were felt in many cities of the country, including Kayseri, Adana, Mersin and Hatay.
