Armenia and Azerbaijan Engaged in Peace Talks in Berlin at German Government’s Behest

Two weeks following the meeting between Pashinyan and Aliyev in Munich, negotiations between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan are currently underway in Germany. Burbock announced the bold steps taken by the two countries.

The peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan commenced in Berlin on Wednesday, February 28, following an invitation from the German government. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock hosted the foreign ministers of both nations, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, as part of concerted efforts to address the protracted conflict surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to reports, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan convened for discussions on February 28-29 with the aim of reaching a peace agreement between the two countries.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mirzoyan and Bayramov held a bilateral meeting as part of the broader diplomatic engagement facilitated by the German government.
