A School Honoring Chyngyz Aitmatov to Open in Mongolia

Plans are underway to establish a school bearing the name of Chyngyz Aitmatov in Mongolia, following discussions held during a meeting between the parliamentary leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar.

Nurlanbek Shakiev, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, suggested naming a street in Ulaanbaatar after Manas and erecting a monument to the Kyrgyz epic hero. This proposal was made alongside the announcement of the school honoring Aitmatov.

Gombozhavin Zandanshatar, Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia, acknowledged the proposal and assured that it would be reviewed. Additionally, Zandanshatar highlighted ongoing deliberations regarding the possibility of naming a street in the Mongolian capital after Aitmatov.
