Tajikistan’s Economy Expands by 8.4% in 2025
Tajikistan has reported strong economic performance in 2025, with gross domestic product growth reaching 8.4%, according to results announced at an expanded government meeting chaired by President Emomali Rahmon.
Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda stated that, despite ongoing global challenges, the year proved successful for the country. He noted that GDP totaled 176.9 billion somoni, equivalent to nearly 19 billion US dollars, while inflation remained moderate at 3.5%.
State budget revenues amounted to 60.3 billion somoni, exceeding the planned level by 7 billion. Foreign investment inflows reached 59.5 billion somoni, marking a 35% increase compared with 2024. Total trade turnover grew by 14% to 77.3 billion somoni.
Over the course of the year, Tajikistan commissioned 400 industrial enterprises, along with dozens of educational and healthcare facilities, and created approximately 280,000 new jobs.
Summarizing the results, President Rahmon instructed the government to intensify efforts to achieve strategic objectives and maintain economic growth at no less than 8% in the coming years.
