Made in Kazakhstan: Kazakh UAV Successfully Passes Tests

JSC “NC Kazakhstan Engineering” has successfully tested the modernized unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) “Shagala-M”.

During the update, the tactical and technical characteristics of the device were improved, namely: its speed, altitude, and flight range.

Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Engineering Temirzhan Abdrakhmanov notes that the UAV is widely used. It can be employed for monitoring oil pipelines, gas pipelines, and power lines. It can also be utilized as an alternative to helicopter equipment for monitoring situations within the scope of search and rescue operations. Furthermore, it can serve as a repeater for communications and emergency management.

“The advantage of the Chagala-M is that it does not require a runway. Its cost is cheaper than that of foreign analogues. We have obtained certificates for the sale of the product, including the ST-KZ certificate, an industrial certificate, and a corresponding patent,” , General Director of R&D Center Kazakhstan Engineering LLP Gani Baiseitov said.

In 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan developed the Rules for the Operation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the Airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan. These rules are intended to regulate not only the procedures for using airspace, but also the accounting, categorization, and issuance of permits for UAVs.

In turn, Kazakhstan Engineering is launching a training program for pilots and mechanics at the aviation training center. The objective is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of civilian drones and copters.
