“Yellow” Terrorist Threat Level Lifted in Four Kazakh Cities

Security operations return to normal as Kazakhstan adjusts security measures following significant diplomatic events.

Following the conclusion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and the state visit by the President of the People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan’s State Security Service has decided to lift the anti-terrorist operation legal regime in Astana effective from 23:59 on July 4. This decision, reported by the Anti-Terrorism Center of Kazakhstan, signifies a return to standard security protocols.

Simultaneously, in accordance with the regulations governing the state’s monitoring and alert system for terrorism threats, approved by the President of Kazakhstan, the “yellow” level of terrorist threat has been canceled in Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, and Kokshetau from 23:59 on July 4. This adjustment indicates a reduction in the perceived threat level.

Security forces in these cities are now resuming normal operations, as announced by Kazakhstan’s State Security Service.
