Uzbekistan and France Establish Strategic Partnership

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of France Emmanuel Macron signed a joint declaration on establishing a strategic partnership following talks in Paris.

According to UzA, an intergovernmental agreement on the mobility of professionals and students was also signed in the presence of the two leaders.

During the meeting, the following agreements were concluded:

  • An intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of the Uzbekistan-France University;
  • An agreement on readmission;
  • An investment and innovation partnership program with leading French companies worth €6.5 billion;
  • A cooperation program between foreign ministries for 2025–2026;
  • A cooperation program with the French Development Agency for 2026–2030;
  • An intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa exemption for diplomatic passport holders;
  • A declaration on cooperation within international organizations;
  • A declaration on cooperation in the healthcare sector;
  • A protocol on expanding French language education;
  • A declaration on cooperation in music, cinema, and theater;
  • Partnership agreements between the Uzbekistan Culture and Arts Development Foundation and the French Ministry of Culture, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, and the Central Asian Studies Institute;
  • A protocol on establishing partnership relations between Tashkent and Paris, along with other bilateral documents.
