UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Arrives in Almaty

On the morning of July 3, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in Almaty, as confirmed by the UN press service.

Guterres was welcomed by Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Akan Rakhmetullin, the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the UN, Kairat Umarov, and the UN Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan, Michaela Friberg-Story.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan confirmed Guterres’ arrival in Almaty, where he will visit the UN office.

On July 4, Guterres will travel to Astana to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
