Türkiye Beats Armenia 2-1 in Euro-2024 Qualifier

The Turkish National Team kicked off their campaign Saturday with a successful start against their neighbors, Armenia, in Group D, beating the latter 2-1 in Yerevan.

In the first match of group D, where Türkiye and Armenia play together with Croatia, Latvia and Wales, the Turkish national team defeated the Armenian team in Yerevan with a score of 2:1.

At the beginning of the match, Ozan Kabak who plays as a centre-back for Bundesliga club 1899 Hoffenheim  became the author of an own goal unluckily, sending the ball into his own net. It happened in the 10th minute of the match.

At the 34th minute, the midfielder for the Dutch club Feyenoord Orkun Kekcu evened the score 1:1 with an accurate shot. And the victory of the Turkish national team was brought by the goal of the winger of the Turkish Süper Lig club Galatasaray Kerem Akturkoglu in the 63rd minute.

The Turkish national team, having won the first match with a score of 2:1, recorded the first 3 points of the qualifying round.

Türkiye will play the next game in the qualifying tournament on March 28 in Bursa against Croatia.
