Turkic world stand together for the earthquake victims
Totally 1703 personnel from Turkic World rescued 75 victims in the rubble after the massive earthquakes in Türkiye.
Following the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes in Kahramanmaras city, the teams of Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member and observer countries participated in search and rescue activities with a total of 1703 personnel and pulled 75 earthquake victims out of the rubble. OTS countries also provided in-kind and cash aid to Türkiye.
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani teams saved 54 people from the rubble while participating in to rescue operations with 747 search and rescue and medical personnel. From brother Azerbaijan; 503 thousand dollars in cash aid, 1 field hospital, 479 tents, 14 thousand 380 basic necessities, 82 thousand 480 warm clothes, 611 thousand 709 medicines and medical supplies have sent to area where affected by the disaster.
Also among aids there were the free refueling to the fire brigade, AFAD and other official search and rescue vehicles.
Kazakhstan
Sending a 101-person search and rescue and medical team to Türkiye with 2 private planes, Kazakhstan provided the removal of 7 people from the rubble.
the Government of Kazakhstan decided to allocate 1 million dollars to türkiye as an emergency aid. 11 tons of humanitarian aid was sent from Aktobe region and 28 generators were sent from Astana. Citizens of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh diaspora living in Türkiye took part in the delivery of humanitarian aid worth 160 thousand dollars to the earthquake-affected regions of Türkiye. Volunteers in Kazakhstan have donated cash to the special account of the Turkish Embassy in Astana and have already raised over $3.6 million. 150 tons of humanitarian aid and about 100 Kazakh yurts (Turkic etnic tents) was sent to Türkiye by Kazakh volunteers.
Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan participated in the work in earthquake zones with a search and rescue team of 188 people, consisting of search and rescue, doctors and earthquake experts, and 6 search and rescue dogs. Five people were rescued from the rubble. Kyrgyz people collected 6 tons of humanitarian aid and a volunteer groups were formed from Kyrgyz diaspora representatives, students and other Kyrgyz living in Türkiye from Van, Ankara and Istanbul to help distribute the aid. They also helped to installation of the yurts in the area of the eartquake which were sent by Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Government has established aid points to collect humanitarian aid in all regions of the country, and opened special bank accounts to collect and send financial aid to Türkiye. Most of the government agency employees provided cash aid for earthquake victims in Türkiye.
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan participated in disaster activities with a team of 171 search and rescue, earthquake experts and medical personnel, and 10 rescue dogs, and rescued 9 earthquake victims from the wreckage. In addition to more than 120 tons of humanitarian aid, Uzbekistan Public Assistance Fund “Mahalla” provided 10 tons of humanitarian aid. In addition, two more humanitarian aid shipments of around 20 tons are expected. The Istanbul Consulate General, together with the Uzbek diaspora, sent about 20 tons of humanitarian aid to the Hatay region with 2 trucks. A Military Field Hospital was established in the Ovakent district of Hatay, serving the injured on a 24/7 basis. Volunteer groups were formed among the representatives of the Uzbek diaspora in Türkiye to assist in the distribution of aid. Humanitarian aid collection points were established in Tashkent, Samarkand and other cities of Uzbekistan.
Supporting the work with 167 search and rescue personnel and 29 rescue dogs, most of them in Hatay, Hungary carries out humanitarian aid mobilization through many official and volunteer teams.
Turkmenistan
Turkmenistan sent 7 doctors and 3 health personnel, as well as 2 planes loaded with humanitarian aid consisting of medicines, medical supplies and textiles to Türkiye.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC)
TRNC sent a search and rescue team of 249 people consisting of civil organization, army, police and firefighters, and 8 specially equipped vehicles and over 70 medics to Türkiye for work in the earthquake zone. About 82 trucks loaded with cold-proof tents, outdoor and indoor heaters, satellite communication equipment and humanitarian aid were dispatched to the earthquake-affected areas. Turkish Cypriots donated 8.5 million Turkish liras as of February 8, while a total of 132 mobile cranes, welding machines, bulldozers and construction equipment were shipped to the affected areas. More than 100 TRNC search and rescue volunteers went to the earthquake area. More than 1800 volunteers helped collect and dispatch humanitarian aid in the TRNC.
