Turkic Academy President Joins Commemorative Event for Temirbek Zhurgenov’s 125th Anniversary

Shahin Mustafayev, the President of the Turkic Academy, participated in a book presentation ceremony held at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana, marking the 125th anniversary of the esteemed statesman Temirbek Zhurgenov.

TURKSOY, the International Organization of Turkic Culture, designated the previous year as the “Year of Temirbek Zhurgenov” and organized various events throughout the year in his honor. As part of these commemorative activities, Beybit Koishybayev’s book “Commissar Zhurgenov” was translated into Turkish, and Almazhan Utegaliyeva’s “Temirbek Zhurgenov: Victory and Tragedy” was published in Russian.

During his address, Sultan Raev, the Secretary-General of TURKSOY, emphasized the responsibility of present and future generations to ascertain the significance of such a distinguished figure in history and explore his enduring legacy.

The event was attended by statesmen, public figures, members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, members of the National Congress under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, poets, writers, intellectuals, journalists, and readers.
