The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has hinted at the possibility of barring Tina Kandelaki from entering the country in response to her recent controversial statements. Aibek Smadiyarov, the official representative of the Ministry, addressed this matter during a briefing, TuraNews.kz reports.
When questioned by journalists about the potential for Tina Kandelaki being denied entry to Kazakhstan, Smadiyarov stated, “If necessary, measures will be taken. Do not insist that we do this today or tomorrow. The state will never forgive this. She (Tina Kandelaki – editor’s note) will not come to Kazakhstan, and if she does come, she will not enter.”
In early January, plans emerged about renaming some railway stations and sidings in Kazakhstan. Recently, Russian TV presenter Tina Kandelaki criticized the renaming, expressing concern about the perceived diminishing role of the Russian language at the state level in Kazakhstan.
