The international folklore festival “Spring of Baysun” Kicks Off in Uzbekistan

The international folklore festival “Spring of Baysun” is set to take place in the Surkhandarya province of Uzbekistan from May 1st to May 7th, 2024.

This annual festival, held in the Baysun mountainous region, promises a vibrant array of cultural activities and events for its attendees this year.

Featuring thrilling national sports competitions, diverse performances, and captivating concert programs representing various countries, the festival holds significant importance in promoting tourism in both the region and the country.

Over 200 representatives from folklore groups across Uzbekistan will grace the event in traditional attire, breathing life into melodies from the Turkic heritage.

Nestled in the heart of the Surkhanderya region, the enchanting Baysun holds UNESCO recognition as a masterpiece of the “Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.” It was honored with inclusion in UNESCO’s “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” Representative List back in 2008.
