The death toll in Palestine rises to 33,797 amid Israeli army attacks on Gaza Strip

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported a grim escalation in casualties, with the death toll climbing to 33,797 since the onset of Israeli army attacks on the Gaza Strip beginning October 7, 2023.

In a recent statement, the Ministry detailed the ongoing assaults by Israeli forces, which have persisted for 192 days. Tragically, within the past 24 hours alone, an additional 68 Palestinians lost their lives, while 94 others sustained injuries as a result of the attacks.

The statement further underscored the harrowing toll exacted by Israel’s relentless barrage, revealing that the number of fatalities has surged to 33,797, with an alarming 76,465 individuals wounded since the commencement of hostilities.

Despite the mounting casualties, the Ministry lamented the severe impediments imposed by Israeli forces, hindering the retrieval of bodies trapped beneath rubble or strewn along roadsides. Medical teams and civil defense officials have been obstructed from reaching these victims, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip.
