Starting April 1, Kazakhstan introduces mandatory shipping invoices in trade with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in order to reduce and suppress shadow economic activity, Turanews.kz reports citing the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.
The SRC believes that these measures will allow better tracking and control of the movement of goods, helping to prevent the occurrence of significant losses due to tax evasion. In addition, it will also reduce any shadow turnover.
These measures will also help combat parallel imports, when goods are imported into the country without the consent of the manufacturer or copyright holder. Such import goes in parallel with the official one. In Russia, such imports are allowed for certain types of goods.
Since December 2020, the project has been running in trial mode. Goods of the EAEU countries with waybills are imported on a voluntary basis. Registration of SNT in electronic form with an EDS before crossing borders prevents the use of fake documents for goods of the EAEU countries by nominees, fictitious recipients and senders of goods, bankrupt enterprises and persons in the process of liquidation.
