Shusha will receive 1.5 thousand internally displaced persons at the first stage

Azerbaijan begins the process of returning internally displaced persons to the city of Shusha, liberated from Armenian occupation during the 2020 war. This was announced by Kanan Guliyev, chief adviser of the Azerbaijani President’s Special Representation in Shusha, at the 66th meeting of the working group on energy supply of the Interdepartmental Center in Shusha.

Guliyev noted that within the framework of the Great Return program, which provides for the return of former internally displaced persons to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, from August to September 2022, 23 residential buildings with 450 apartments are being built in Shusha.

According to him, at present, the construction of an educational institution, a hospital and a post office is underway in the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan.

The implementation of all these projects will be completed by the end of this year, after which it is planned to resettle 1,500 people in Shusha, he said.
