Adverse weather conditions are set to affect multiple regions across Kazakhstan, according to the national weather service Kazhydromet.
Heavy snowfall, blizzards, icy roads and fog are expected in the Abai, Akmola, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions. Wind gusts in some areas may reach 23–28 meters per second.
Snow and blizzard conditions are also forecast in Astana. Western and southern parts of the country are likely to experience fog and strong winds. In northern Kazakhstan, temperatures are expected to plunge sharply, dropping to minus 25°C at night, with frost intensifying to as low as minus 37°C in the coming days.
