Seismologists Report Earthquake in China, No Impact in Kazakhstan

Seismic monitoring stations operated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan detected an earthquake at 00:17.

The epicenter was located 256 kilometers southeast of Almaty in China, classified as an aftershock.

The earthquake registered an energy class of 11.6 and a magnitude of MPV 5.5. Its epicenter coordinates were recorded at 41.08° N and 78.11° E, with a depth of 5 kilometers.

Although the earthquake occurred relatively close to the Kazakhstan-China border, there were no reports of perceptibility within Kazakhstan, according to the MSK-64 scale.
