Competing in the final of the 97-kilogram weight category, Aitmukhan faced off against Akhmed Tazhudinov, the reigning world champion from Bahrain. Despite a fierce battle, Tazhudinov emerged victorious with a score of 4-2, relegating Aitmukhan to the second spot and earning him the silver medal.
It’s noteworthy that Tazhudinov had previously claimed victory in the 2023 World Cup, while Aitmukhan himself had been crowned champion in the 92-kilogram weight category.
Adding to Kazakhstan’s success, Meirambek Kartbay also showcased his prowess on April 11 in Bishkek, securing third place in the 57-kilogram weight category.
