Putin and Erdogan discuss Grain Deal

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the future of the grain deal in a phone call, Turanews.kz reports.

According to the Kremlin press service, Putin confirmed his readiness to return to the issue as soon as the West fulfills all the fixed obligations. Moscow is working on options for supplying its grain to countries in need, including free of charge.

Pointing out that the long-term shutdown of the Black Sea Initiative would not benefit anyone, and that the countries in need of grain and low income would suffer the most, President Erdoğan underlined that the prices of grain, which decreased by 23 percent during the implementation period, increased by 15 percent in the last two weeks.

The two leaders also discussed the development of trade and economic ties, the implementation of joint strategic projects in the energy sector, as well as cooperation in the tourism industry.
