President Tokayev Receives Georgia’s Interior Minister Gela Geladze

According to the press service of Akorda, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs Gela Geladze.

The meeting focused on current issues of bilateral cooperation in maintaining public order and combating crime. Tokayev emphasized that Georgia remains an important and reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus, noting that the ties between the two nations are rooted in a long-standing historical relationship that has stood the test of time.

For his part, Gela Geladze briefed the President on the efforts of Georgian law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of foreign tourists, including citizens of Kazakhstan.

The interior ministries of both countries confirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation in tackling organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime and extremism, as well as to expand exchanges of best practices and professional training.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Tokayev conveyed his greetings to Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
