
The Central Election Commission reports that 53 political parties and 3 coalitions are competing for 140 seats in parliament. This marks the 11th parliamentary election since the fall of the communist regime in 1991.
Starting today, all campaigning is banned nationwide. Political advertising, rallies, and media promotion are prohibited until voting concludes.
Polling stations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. across 5,225 locations. For the first time, Albanians living abroad can vote remotely—by email or regular mail. An estimated 245,935 expatriates are expected to participate.
