New Digital System Enables Flood Victims in Kazakhstan to Apply for Assistance via Smartphone
the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population (MLSP) of the Republic of Kazakhstan has introduced a novel approach, allowing victims to apply for aid conveniently through their smartphones.
As of April 16, 2024, flood victims in the Akmola region can access this innovative service via the eGov Mobile application, marking the initiation of a pilot project. Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, this new functionality aims to simplify and expedite the application process for those in need.
To submit an application, users simply need to log in to the mobile application and navigate to the “New survey on flood victims” service on the main page. From there, they are prompted to input essential details about the victims, including banking information, contact phone number, incident address, status of temporary housing, details of damaged property, and a description of the incurred damage. Upon completion, the questionnaire requires signing using an electronic signature.
Once submitted, the application is transmitted through the automatic information system “Social Assistance” to the respective local executive bodies in the affected area. Subsequently, on-site assessments of the damaged property will be conducted, and necessary support will be provided based on processed applications.
To ensure transparency and accountability, monitoring of the assessment process will be facilitated through photography, video recording, and geo-recording via the dedicated mobile application FSM Social.
This digitized mechanism not only facilitates efficient aid distribution but also enables comprehensive control and monitoring of the assistance process during emergency situations.
The public is reminded of the importance of utilizing only the official eGov Mobile application to safeguard against unauthorized access to personal data by third parties.
