A state-of-the-art cement plant has commenced operations in Uzbekistan, marking the inauguration of the first of two planned projects, with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons.

Located in the Bulakbashi district of the Andijan region, the Uzbek-Chinese cement plant is now operational, as reported by Shukhrat Abdurakhmonov, the governer of the region.

The grand opening ceremony, held on April 28, saw the participation of regional administration officials alongside Chinese partners. The production activities will be overseen by the joint venture, Bridge of Friendship, under the management of Shangfeng.

Constructed with collaboration from Conch International Holdings and Zhejiang Shangfeng Building Materials, the plant boasts a daily capacity of 6,500 tons. The total investment in the project amounts to approximately $250 million.

This initiative has significantly contributed to the regional economy by generating 750 employment opportunities. With an annual production capacity of up to 2.5 million tons of cement, the plant is poised to export products valued at $10 million, further bolstering Uzbekistan’s industrial sector.
