Kyrgyzstan Moves to Ban Pornographic Websites to Safeguard Moral Values
Kyrgyzstan’s Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture, and Construction has approved a bill in its second and third readings to restrict access to pornographic websites. The measure aims to protect national moral standards and cleanse the country’s digital space.

The legislation proposes a complete ban on the distribution of pornographic content within Kyrgyzstan’s internet domain. It also includes legal accountability for individuals who produce or disseminate such material.
If enacted, websites containing adult content will be given a 24-hour notice to remove the materials. Failure to comply will result in the site being blocked for up to two months, and the creation of new similar platforms will be prohibited.
Access may only be restored once the content is fully deleted or by court decision. Lawmakers say the bill is designed to protect children and young people from harmful online content.
