Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan Business Forum Highlights Economic Cooperation

Ahead of President of Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov's official visit to Kazakhstan, a business forum titled "Kyrgyzstan - Kazakhstan" convened in Astana, aimed at bolstering economic ties between the two nations.

Chaired by First Deputy Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev of the Kyrgyz Republic and Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin of Kazakhstan, the forum underscored the significance and support accorded to the event.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sanzhar Bolotov highlighted key areas of economic cooperation, including the construction of the Almaty-Issyk-Kul road and modernization of border points, aimed at enhancing trade and transport links between the two countries.

Additionally, the potential of regional tourism, logistics projects, and cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) were emphasized as pivotal factors in boosting trade turnover and fostering business development and investment opportunities.

Urmat Takirov, Director of the Center for Development and Promotion of Exports “Kyrgyz Export,” presented export proposals, showcasing Kyrgyzstan’s products and highlighting opportunities for expanding trade partnerships and increasing export volumes, particularly in the Kazakh market.

The forum concluded with the signing of several agreements, including a memorandum for the construction of a ferroalloy plant in Tash-Kumyr, Jalal-Abad region, aimed at furthering investment and industrial relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
