Kyrgyzstan imposes a ban on onion exports

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has imposed a ban on the export of onions from the country for three months, Turanews.kz reports.

In Kyrgyz Republic, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted on an introduction of a temporary ban on the export of onions outside the territory of Kyrgyzstan from January 31, 2023 for a period of 3 months, Turanews.kz reports with reference to Kabar

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, with the temporary ban the Ministers aim to ensure food security in the country and contain the prices for socially significant food products such as onion, shallot, leek and other bulbous vegetables, fresh or chilled.
